Trustees

TCT TRUSTEES There are eight trustees, who serve for five-year terms. The trustees elect their successors, but any ten members of the Trust may nominate a person to fill a vacancy on the Board. The incumbent trustees are as follows:

Robert Bednarek - Year-round Truro resident for more than 25 years. Secretary, Truro Conservation Commission. Architect.

Brenda Bolen - Vice chair of the TCT board. As chair of Truro’s Open Space Committee, she lead the campaign to purchase Poor’s Hill, and currently serves on the Advisory Commission for the Cape Cod National Seashore.  An educator and naturalist, she is an authority on the horseshoe crab and Truro’s recognized expert on ticks.

Betsey Brown - Lifetime Truro resident until 1999; currently living in Orleans. Former Chair, Truro Planning Board and Local Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. One of seven founding trustees.

Fred Gaechter - A 3-year member of the TCT board and Treasurer, he is in his third year as chair of the Truro Board of Selectmen and Board liaison to the Open Space Committee. He is also a Cape landscape and nature photographer and a singer in the Outer Cape Chorale.

Carol Green - Currently Truro resident, April-December. Businesswoman. Present Board Member, Castle Hill, Center for Coastal Studies and WHAT.

Curtis Hartman - A member of the Truro Board of Selectmen, he served as chair and lead author of the town’s Local Comprehensive Plan and as chair of the town’s Community Preservation Committee.

Howard Irwin - A Truro resident and 3-year member of the TCT board is an educator and naturalist...

John Marksbury - Chair of the TCT board, he has served as a Trustee for the past five years. A fundraiser in Boston, he served as a member of the Committee for Truro Town Hall and serves as Director of Development, for the Longee School of Music.

Joel Searcy - Served as Chairman of the Truro Finance Committee where he remains a member, and also serves on the Community Center Building Committee.
